How the mQuickCalc Finance calculators handle your data, cookies and privacy — GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA/CPRA rights.

1. Who we are

mQuickCalc Finance (the site at https://finance.mquickcalc.com) is a provider of free online calculators. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what data we handle, why, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and — for users in California — the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). mQuickCalc is operated by Jim (Maoming, Guangdong, China). 2. Short version

We are privacy-first by design:

• Calculations happen entirely in your browser (client-side JavaScript). We do not see, collect, store or transmit the numbers you enter.
• We have no user accounts, no profiles, no email capture, and no behaviour-based advertising as of the date of this policy.
• We use no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics that can identify you today; if we later add advertising or analytics partners we will ask for your consent first.
• A single localStorage flag remembers whether you dismissed the cookie notice. It stays on your device.

3. Data we process

3.1 Information you type into calculators

Input values (for example height, weight, lab results, prices or fees) are processed by JavaScript in your browser only. They are never transmitted to our servers. Nothing we build reads or stores them.

3.2 Technical logs (hosting)

This site is served through Cloudflare and a web host. Like virtually every website, the hosting infrastructure may record standard technical logs (IP address, user-agent, date/time, requested resource) to operate, secure and protect the service against abuse. We rely on the legitimate interest of keeping the site available and secure (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). These logs are retained only as long as necessary (typically no more than a few days at the application layer; Cloudflare retains per its own policy) and are not combined with any other dataset to identify you.

3.3 Local storage & cookie notice

When you press “Got it” on our notice, we store a non-identifying flag (mqc-cookies) in your browser's localStorage so we do not re-show the notice. It contains no personal data and never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time via your browser settings.

4. Cookies

We do not set advertising, analytics, social or other third-party cookies. The only mechanism we use is the localStorage preference described above. If we ever add a partner that sets cookies, we will (a) update this policy first, (b) show an appropriate consent choice in the cookie banner, and (c) never set non-essential cookies before you consent, consistent with the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR.

5. Advertising

We do not run advertising as of the date of this policy. If the site is ever monetised through a third-party ad network (for example Google AdSense or another display-ad network), this section will be updated before any advertisement goes live, and the following commitments will apply:

• Prior consent. Before any non-essential cookies or similar technologies are set for personalised or behavioural advertising, we will ask for your consent through a clear consent banner (a consent-management platform). You will be able to accept or decline, choose granular categories, and change your choice at any time, with revocation as easy as granting (GDPR and ePrivacy).
• Who processes what. Ad networks act as independent data controllers/processors for their own purposes and may set cookies, use similar technologies, and process device and usage signals (e.g. IP address, browser data) to serve, target, measure and cap ads. Their handling is governed by their own policies (for Google, see policies.google.com/privacy).
• Regional restrictions. For users in the EEA/UK we will rely on Google’s consent requirements (including “Consent Mode” / restricted data processing) so that no personalised advertising occurs without valid consent; for California we will honour CCPA/CPRA opt-outs and treat cross-context behavioural advertising as a potential “share” requiring an opt-out signal.
• No children’s targeted ads. We will not enable personalised advertising that targets children, and we will mark the property appropriately under Google’s and COPPA’s rules if required.
• Your choices. Independently of the banner, you may decline personalised ads via Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), YourOnlineChoices (EU), AboutAds.info (US) and the Network Advertising Initiative, or block cookies in your browser.

6. Legal bases (GDPR Art. 6)

• Legitimate interest — operating and securing the website and its technical logs (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Consent — only where we ask for it (e.g. if non-essential cookies are ever introduced) (Art. 6(1)(a)).
• We do not rely on “performance of a contract” or “legal obligation” for any personal-data processing because we process no user personal data beyond the above.

7. International transfers

Cloudflare operates a global edge network; responses to your requests may be served from data centres in the EU, US and elsewhere. Cloudflare participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and provides Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers from the EEA/UK. No personal data beyond standard technical logs described above is affected.

8. Your rights (GDPR)

To the extent we process any personal data about you (primarily technical logs), you have the right to:

• Access a copy of your personal data;
• Rectification of inaccurate data;
• Erasure (“right to be forgotten”);
• Restriction of processing;
• Data portability;
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest;
• Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (e.g. your national data-protection authority or, in the UK, the ICO).

Because we have no accounts and store no personal data, exercising these rights usually requires no action from us. If you believe technical logs relate to you, email [email protected] and we will assist within 30 days.

9. EU/UK users and our representative

mQuickCalc is operated from China and has no establishment in the European Union or the United Kingdom. We do not target our services specifically at the EEA or the UK, and we do not profile users there. Where GDPR Article 27 nonetheless applies to us, our nominated representative in the European Union is to be appointed, and their details will be published here before any advertising or analytics partner that profiles EEA users is introduced. In the meantime you may direct any request under Articles 15-22, or any question about this policy, to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

10. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, delete it, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months. We also do not use your data for targeted advertising, so no “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” opt-out is triggered. We do not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. If we later enable advertising that could qualify as “selling” or “sharing” under the CCPA/CPRA (for example cross-context behavioural advertising), we will update this section before doing so and will honour opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control. 11. Children's privacy

Our tools are general-purpose and do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (US COPPA) or under 16 (EU). Because calculations run locally, we do not knowingly collect data from minors at all.

12. Data retention

Technical logs are retained only as long as needed for security and operations (typically days). The localStorage flag is removed when you clear site data.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal or operational changes. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
