Frequently asked questions
How much do creators actually keep after platform fees?
Most platforms take roughly 5–15% plus payment processing. For example Patreon is about 8–12%, Gumroad 10% flat, and YouTube AdSense varies by RPM. These calculators net out the fee so you see take-home per sale or per 1,000 views.
What is RPM vs CPM?
RPM (revenue per mille) is your actual earnings per 1,000 views after the platform’s share; CPM is the advertiser rate before that share. The YouTube RPM calculator shows country-by-country differences.
How are Twitch payouts calculated?
Bits pay a set rate per 100, subscriptions pay a tiered amount minus processing, and ads pay per view. The Twitch calculators convert bits to USD and estimate subscription revenue.
